Are you looking for an exciting job this summer?  Forward Church is a church located in Cambridge (Franklin & Myers) running several weeks of camp at both our Cambridge and Kitchener site this summer to build relationships with campers from the community and our church.

We are seeking students who want to serve God by running Sports Camps, Music/Arts Camps, STEM Camp and Camp Forward (an overnight camp at Mini-Yo-We in Muskoka, ON)

These are full time jobs with an hourly wage.

Alongside working within a specific team at Forward summer camps, all staff will contribute to the larger staff team by working towards a “one-team” culture and being available to the needs of the other teams as needed.

Our desire is to employ a staff team based on complementary skill sets and gifting’s. Therefore the job descriptions listed below may change depending on the skillset of each individual team member.

SMAAK Camp (Summer Music and Arts Kamp)
SMAAK Camp Director
The SMAAK Camp Director will be part of the SMAAK Camp team and will have the SMAAK Camp
Program Coordinator as a direct report. In addition, the Special Needs Coordinator will report to the
SMAAK Camp Director during SMAAK Camp weeks. The Director will likely be responsible for:
-the overall vision and leadership of SMAAK Camps
-behaviour management of SMAAK Camp campers
-the planning for Bible teaching and development at SMAAK Camp
-leading the rest of the SMAAK Camp team and assisting in all parts of the camp
and planning process

SMAAK Camp Program Coordinator
The SMAAK Camp Program Coordinator will report to the SMAAK Camp Director and will have
direct reports of the high school aged SMAAK Camp counsellors. The Program Coordinator will
likely be responsible for:
-development, resourcing and implementation of a fun, safe and effective program for campers
-providing clear responsibilities to the camp counsellors
-purchasing and ensuring all supplies are ready for SMAAK Camps

SPORTS Camp
Sports Camp Director
The Sports Camp Director will be part of the Sports Camp team and will have the Sports Camp
Program Coordinator as a direct report. In addition, the special needs director will report to the
Sports camp director during Sports Camp (full day) weeks. The Director will likely be responsible
for:
-the overall vision and leadership of Sports Camps
-behaviour management of Sports Camp campers
-the planning for Bible teaching and development at Sports Camp
-leading the rest of the Sports Camp team and assisting in all parts of the camp
and planning process

Sports Camp Program Coordinator
The Sports Camp Program Coordinator will report to the Sports Camp Director will have the direct
report of high school aged counsellors. The Program Coordinator will likely be responsible for:
-development, resourcing and implementation of a fun, safe and effective program for campers
-providing clear responsibilities to the camp counsellors
-purchasing and ensuring all supplies are ready for Sports Camps

General Camp Staff
Special Needs Coordinator
The Special Needs Coordinator will work closely with the SMAAK Camp Director and Sports Camp
Director to ensure proper resources are in place for campers with special needs at both camps.
The Special Needs Coordinator has direct report of all volunteers working with special needs
campers. The special needs director will likely be responsible for.
-producing a care plan for each child in collaboration with child’s parent/caregiver
-recruiting, training and communicating with volunteers to work with children requiring
one-on-one assistance
-assisting children requiring assistance throughout the day
-communicating with parents about child's progress

Volunteer Director
The Volunteer Director will work closely with the Pastor of Student Ministries, SMAAK Camp
Director and the Sports Camp Director to ensure volunteers are cared for and discipled. The
Volunteer Director will likely be responsible for:
-overseeing and scheduling all adult and high school volunteers at both camps
-working with others to recruit volunteers for both camps
-working with the Pastor of Student Ministries to disciple high school aged volunteers and staff
-ensuring that volunteers are resourced with what they need to perform their roles effectively
-providing on the job training, support and encouragement to all volunteers
