New Hope is a church in East Hamilton that gathers around the following shared values:

We are seeking a Community Mobilizer to equip teams and leaders within New Hope to work effectively together. We are looking for someone to equip the church to be the church through systems, structure, and organizational leadership.
The ideal candidate would have the mind of a leader, the heart of a pastor, the wisdom of Solomon, and strong organizational skills. The applicant must be a committed follower of Jesus, have a heart for connecting churches with their communities, and be ready to dive into our East Hamilton context.
The successful candidate would work directly with our Leadership Team and support the various serving teams (such as, the Children’s Ministry Teams, Worship Team, Preaching/Teaching Team, and Finance Team) .
The following responsibilities will fall under this role:
Create a culture of empowerment and encouragement, and implement systems to discover and develop gifts of New Hopers. Work with team leaders to identify people to fill various roles. Connect people with opportunities to serve based on their gifting.
Create and implement intentional communication plans among serving teams and within New Hope for (ie) social media, prayer and announcements, schedules etc. Aid in maintaining communication, and be the lead communicator with partners (rental relationship, True City, Denomination, New Hope Community bikes, etc)
Church Life & Mission Organizer
Resource and support serving teams, ministry partners, and the leadership team in carrying out church activities throughout the year. Identify and engage New Hopers to participate and lead as appropriate. For example: the preaching/teaching team, and the worship planning team. Be attuned to feelings of overwhelmedness and support people accordingly.
Take the lead in being knowledgeable and aware of appropriate policies and procedures. Work with serving teams to define their respective roles and activities in keeping with our vision and values. Arrange for and provide (as necessary) training for volunteers.
Pastoral Care Facilitator
Equip New Hope to offer support and provide effective pastoral care to one another. Empower the culture of hospitality. Foster spiritual growth in New Hopers. Join the Teaching/Preaching Team.
Salary and Work Hours
20 hours per week (rate to be negotiated) Contributions to CPP and EI
Terms of Employment
2 years, renewable upon satisfactory job performance
Post-Secondary education in a related field preferred (Community Development, Non-profit Management, Church Leadership, etc.)
Graduate Studies an asset
Experience in organizational leadership
Follower of Jesus
Natural ability to connect with people despite age, ethnicity, economic background Excellent written and oral communication skills
Self starter Self aware
Ready to join in the life and membership of New Hope Church
