Around 1980, a few families in fellowship at Bancroft Bible Chapel began having Bible Studies in homes in L’Amable. As the studies continued, interest in starting another assembly developed. This interest and commitment to the work was shared with the elders at Bancroft who gave their blessing for the group to proceed with their desire. On Labor Day weekend 1982, L’Amable Bible Chapel held their first Sunday services at the old L’Amable Public School. (This group included a good cross-section of young families, youth, and older members.) In early 1990 construction began on a new church building with the members doing the majority of the work, and in 1993 we moved to our present location.

L’Amable Bible Chapel is a welcoming, accepting, caring, family-oriented congregation of about 125 people. We are a Christian, evangelical, non-denominational church with roots and practices in the Brethren Movement. Attributes of a Biblical church most strongly demonstrated at L’Amable include worship, discipleship, ministry, and outreach events. Our prayer is to grow in these areas as well as develop and strengthen other Biblically-based attributes, particularly local community, national, and international missions.
