JOB PURPOSE:

The Lighthouse Church is a new church that is being planted in Kitchener-Waterloo in the Winter and we are committed to fostering an environment where people can experience and grow in their relationship with Jesus. As we lay the foundation for this new ministry, we are looking for a dedicated Worship Leader who is excited about the unique opportunity to shape and execute the vision of worship from the ground up.

As the Worship Leader, you will play a pivotal role in creating and leading worship experiences that are authentic, Spirit-led, and aligned with our church’s mission and vision. You will have the creative freedom to develop and implement a worship strategy that resonates with our congregation and reflects our values. This position offers the potential for growth into a paid role as the church develops.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

•  Collaborate with the church leadership to cast and communicate the vision for worship
• Plan, organize, and lead weekly worship services, including selecting songs, coordinating musicians, and overseeing technical aspects
• Recruit, train, and mentor a volunteer worship team, fostering a culture of excellence, unity, and spiritual growth
• Ensure that worship services are inclusive and reflective of the diversity of our community
• Stay current with trends in worship music and integrate new styles and songs that enhance the worship experience
• Be an active participant in the life of the church, engaging with the congregation and supporting other ministries as needed

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

•  A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to growing in faith
• A servant’s heart
• Previous experience in leading worship, either in a church or other ministry setting
• Proficiency in at least one musical instrument (guitar, piano, etc.) and a strong vocal ability
• A heart for worship and a desire to lead others into the presence of God
• Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage a team and coordinate multiple aspects of worship
• Ability to adapt to the changing needs of a new and growing church
• A passion for innovation and creativity in worship, with a willingness to explore new ideas.
