Calvary Church, of the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches in Ontario, is looking for an Associate Pastor (of Worship and Youth Ministry for the summer with opportunity leading to full time permanent ministry in the near future).  Doctrinally, we follow the statement of Faith from the FEB Central - What We Believe site. Please note that we believe that a male is to be the head of the church.
Espanola is a beautiful town that is just north of Manitoulin Island and an hour west of Sudbury. It is a blue collar town for the most part, with a lot of young families, seniors and professionals. It has its own hospital, college, large community centre with indoor ice rink for lots of hockey, as well as a large pool and gym and much more. The lakes abound up here and the air is fresh.
It’s a perfect place to raise a family, but Espanola needs Christ too. Spiritually, there is a good Christian influence, but also we find there is a large native spirituality influence. There are several evangelical Christian Churches in the area and we have found it good to work together from time to time and to gather for a community time of worship.

Our Mission Statement: Calvary Church’s Mission is to raise up a community of disciples who are committed to Christ, His great commission (Mt 28:18-20) and loving their community according to Luke 10:27

We need you to help us in our: Five Year Vision Statement for Calvary Church in Espanola

Primarily, Calvary is to be a prayer centred, mission focused church. We go out each day to share the good news of the Gospel and to help the world.  This will mean focusing our attention on our local communities and the world with loving and God honouring words and actions, as we look to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith (Heb 12:2).

In our church we will

i) offer church services that honour God and His Word

ii) use relevant music which will be Bible centred and comprised of traditional and newer music

iii) be a people that reach out to community, by sharing the love of God and the gift of His Son Jesus. Our programs will focus on Men’s and Woman’s groups for people both inside and outside the church and expand to youth as God provides.

Working together we will host 4-6 events a year. This will allow us to become more accessible to individuals in our local area, with involvement in seniors groups, with neighbours and the community at large, as God leads. We will also continue to encourage and support our missionaries in the field.

As God provides the bounty, we will seek to bring on a younger minister who will be mentored and later take the lead of our church. We will also seek to establish two regular worship teams to support our services.

Revamping our Website and communication programs will enable people to easily access us on the internet. Through our Website the community will be kept informed of events and news and have access to our missions, vision and Statement of Faith.

As a church, we will show you love, encouragement and room to grow in your vocation. We can offer you food, lodging and some financial remuneration which we will negotiate with you. Families are welcomed, but accommodations will be negotiated

Education is always important and we need someone with a BRE or equivalent with their sights set on a Master of DIV or equivalent. Please write to the address above or call us for more information.
