BASECAMP Children's Director1-Year Term
Job DescriptionMountainview Church is seeking a part-time (10 Hrs./Wk.) BASECAMP Children's Director, to aid in the fulfillment of our mission, "To Introduce, Baptize, and Teach People To Follow Jesus" and our vision, "To Be an Authentic, Vibrant Church, Serving and Reaching Our City". This is a 1-year contract, with an hourly wage of $20 and an option for renewal.
BASECAMP Online, at Home, & In the Building (7 Hrs./Wk.) 50% Time Commitment
Creating and sustaining a dynamic, Gospel-focus, media-based BASECAMP Children's program, that is accessible to parents and guardians online, at home, and in the church building. The components of this program may be purchased and compiled from larger children’s ministry organizations. This may include but not be limited to kids’ video hosting, teaching, planning, facilitating games and activities, directly reporting to the Lead Pastor and in cooperation with BASECAMP Volunteers and other Ministry Leaders.
Recruitment, Training & Scheduling (3 Hrs./Wk.) 50% Time Commitment
Outside of the weekly BASECAMP program, using flextime throughout the week, to plan, coordinate and oversee the recruitment, training, and scheduling of church building volunteers (when needed). Communication with the Office Manager and the BASECAMP Lead Team (key leaders over Explorers, Scramblers, Campers & Climbers) will be crucial throughout this process, bringing them into discussions when available and as is appropriate.
Other Responsibilities Occasional Commitments
In the Lead Pastor's absence, the BASECAMP Children's Director may be given an opportunity to lead meetings and/or facilitate group discussions with other staff and/or Ministry Leaders.
A Problem Solving Kid-At-Heart
The BASECAMP Director should be quick thinking and able to solve problems on the fly. Most of all, the Director should be passionate about working with children, with a deep desire to reach them, and teach them about Jesus.
