General Description
The communications specialist supports IFLC’s communications and marketing director in developing and maintaining all forms of communication with constituents. Working across departments, this role helps engage supporters, promote ministry initiatives, and advance IFLC’s mission and values. This is a full-time, permanent, hybrid position based in Abbotsford, BC.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication, editing, and proofreading skills
• Proficient in Microsoft 365; able to learn new software
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Creative, adaptable, and able to work independently or in a team
• Experience with multi-channel communication strategies
• Diploma or degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or related field (asset, not required)

Starting Salary Range
$50,000–$55,000 CAD per year, with an annual Health Spending Account of $2,000+

Core Job Functions
Content Management and Strategy

• Develop marketing content for ministry materials, communications, and campaigns, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with IFLC’s brand and pastoral tone
• Assist with writing, editing, proofing, and production of print and digital publications, appeal letters, and other collateral
• Collaborate with the marketing co-ordinator on promotions and marketing content
• Track initiatives, seasonal campaigns, and new projects

Interdepartmental Collaboration

• Support constituent communications in partnership with ministry relations
• Assist with cross-departmental initiatives, special mailings, and fulfilment processes
• Help collect and organize metrics to track impact and support ministry goals
