Position Description Heritage Park Alliance Church
Position Title: Director of Children’s Ministries
Reports to: Lead Pastor of Staff, Elders and Church Ministries
Classification: Full Time-salaried, up to 40 hours per week
Role: The Director of Children’s Ministries serves as the primary leader for ministry initiatives to children from birth through Grade 5 and their families.
Responsibilities: In keeping with the vision and values of Heritage Park Alliance Church the Director of Children’s Ministries carries out the following responsibilities:
The Director of Children’s Ministries will develop and lead:
- A Sunday morning discipleship ministry
- A Wednesday night discipleship ministry
- A summer children’s camp
- Our Children’s Ministry volunteer leaders
- Our Children’s Ministry staff
She/He will be responsible for the implementation and application of our Abuse Prevention plan in Children’s Ministries
The Director of Children’s Ministries is also expected to assume a leadership role in other church-wide events and projects (i.e., Trunk or Treat, the Christmas Project and assist with various other projects as delegated)
Outcomes:
- Children’s Ministry staff will be spiritually mature, relationally healthy, committed to the salvation of children, and equipped for their ministry
- Children’s Ministry volunteers will be spiritually mature, relationally healthy, committed to the salvation of children, and equipped for their ministry
- Children will know how to have a personal relationship with God
- Children will demonstrate basic biblical literacy
- Children will be an active part of ministry life at HPAC
- Families will be relationally connected to HPAC
- Families will be equipped to minister to their children
Qualifications: The Director of Children’s Ministries will:
- Demonstrate evidence of the fruit of the Holy Spirit in their life (Galatians 5:22-23)
- Demonstrate a life of obedience to God (which includes having been water baptized)
- Be licensed by the Central Canadian District of the Christian and Missionary Alliance of Canada in good standing
- Satisfy the biblical qualifications for church leadership found in scripture (including those found in 1Timothy 3)
All church employees are required to:
- be members of Heritage Park Alliance Church, or working towards membership
- abide by the policies set out in the Heritage Park Alliance Church Employee Handbook
- complete all test and police clearance requirements of Abuse Prevention policy
