Position: DIRECTOR OF FAMILY MINISTRIES

 

Vision

Director of Family Ministries will oversee the ministries of children and youth, and their families in our congregation with the aim to spiritually nurture their faith in Jesus Christ.

 

Responsibilities

1.) To oversee the children’s Sunday School program of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church. The program consists of two classes: Truth Seekers (Grades 1 to 4) and Deep Divers (Grades 5 to 8).

2.) To lead children’s worship, teach by rotation, supervise volunteer teachers and assistants, prepare the rotation schedule for teachers and assistants, manage the curriculum resources, and provide the training that volunteers need to ensure an effective children’s ministry.

3.) To provide leadership and a vision towards the development of a youth group, potentially a junior high group and/or senior high group.

4.) To collaborate with the K-12 students of Cornerstone school (i.e. monthly chapel services, coordinate an after-school sports program), the neighbourhood children and those in the surrounding public schools.

5.) To ensure the provision of pastoral care to families with children and youth within the congregation.

Qualifications

Experience: Foundational biblical and theological studies, whether on-going or completed

Character: Mature, experienced Christian teacher who supports the ministry direction of the church

Skills: Strong administration, communication, and team building abilities

Compliance: Must possess a clean Vulnerable Sector Screening

Assets: Bilingualism, music, crafts, and sports skills are considered an asset

 

Accountability

1. To the Lead Pastor.

2. The position is an initial part-time contract position of 8 hours/week, at $25/hour, paid monthly. There will be an evaluation after a 3-month probationary period. Hours will be evaluated after the 3-month mark and are subject to adjustment contingent on ministry growth.
