Director of Life Groups
Part-Time (Approx. 24 hours/week, with potential to expand to Full-Time)
Reports to: Director of Integration
Location: Emmanuel Barrie
Position Overview
Emmanuel Barrie is seeking a Director of Life Groups to provide leadership, oversight, and spiritual direction for our Life Groups and Women’s Ministry. This role is central to helping people grow in faith, connect in meaningful community, and live out authentic discipleship in smaller, relational settings.
This position is currently structured as a part-time role (approximately 24 hours per week), with the possibility of expanding to full-time depending on the passion, gifting, and demonstrated effectiveness of the successful applicant.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide vision, leadership, and oversight for Life Groups and Women’s Bible Studies. This role will include providing leadership to a newly re-started Women’s ministry as well.
- Recruit, train, coach, and support group leaders and facilitators
- Develop and manage group rhythms, launches, and ongoing coordination
- Select and oversee biblically faithful curriculum and resources
- Foster healthy group culture, spiritual growth, and care
- Collaborate with staff to help people connect from weekend services into groups
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the broader ministry team

The Barrie congregation is a large regional church, supported by a collaborative staff team that includes pastors, directors, and support staff. We are seeking a Director of Life Groups who shares our passion for the Great Commandment and the Great Commission and desires to help people grow as disciples of Jesus in vibrant, Christ-centered community.
Who You Are
- A growing follower of Jesus with a heart for discipleship and community
- Gifted in relational leadership, encouragement, and spiritual care
- Experienced in leading or overseeing small groups or similar ministries
- Organized, communicative, and comfortable working with volunteers
- A collaborative team player aligned with Emmanuel’s mission and values
Qualifications
- Agrees with and subscribes to Emmanuel’s Statement of Faith and Mission.
- Experience that brings a biblical understanding of church ministry and discipleship.
- A passion for lifelong learning. Theological training would be an asset.
