Brief Job Description
- Implement the vision and mission of Marchmont Baptist Church.
- Provide leadership & Biblical teaching for youth and families.
- Provide for the training of volunteers.
- Equip youth and families for the Biblical Christian life, church life & leadership.
- Coordinate and provide direction for programs & ministries that develop as the need arises.
- Build relationships with local families through outreach.
- Participate in administrative & spiritual team meetings & church management meetings.
- Fulfill risk management responsibilities regarding youth and families and provide reports where necessary.
- Participate in Congregation Worship services at the discretion of the Lead Pastor.
- Report and be accountable to the Joint Council & Lead Pastor and provide monthly reports to the Lead Pastor for encouragement and accountability.
- Complete other duties at the discretion of the Lead Pastor.
Overview of Church and Community
Marchmont Baptist Church was established in 1888 in a rural agricultural community. Today, the congregation consists of approximately 70 members. Currently, the neighbourhood consists of a number of young families with the potential for outreach. As a church, we exist to glorify God in everything we do while making it our mission to make life-long disciples of Jesus Christ.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Possess a mature faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to serve Him through the local church
- Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree along with biblical/theological training and field experience working with youth and family ministries.
- Applicants should agree to and adhere to Marchmont Baptist Church’s Statement of Faith (viewable at marchmontbaptist.ca)
Preferred Skills and Assets
- Strong organization, coordination and teaching/mentoring skills
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent relations skills with people across the age spectrum as well as an understanding of the dynamics with a church community
- Strong collaborations skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as a team leader and team member
- Resourceful, innovative and visionary
- Musical ability considered an asset
