Description

Overview

Out of a desire to reach the lost with the gospel and care for the poor and marginalized, Eastwood Baptist Church established the Eastwood Housing Corporation in the early 1980s to provide affordable housing to those in need in our community. The Backyard Bible Camp has become one means of spreading the gospel and the love of Christ to the families of Eastwood Housing.

Vision

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:19-20).

The people living in the housing complexes experience the brokenness and complexities of poverty and live in spiritual darkness. The Backyard Bible Camp has proven to be an effective opportunity to proclaim the gospel and extend the love of Christ with the community. In 2024, over 100 children participated in camp activities, heard the gospel, and were called to repent and believe in Christ.
