Description
The Internship Program is an intentional gap-year program designed for Christian young adults for the purpose of training future leaders in a variety of ministries. Interns will have opportunities each week with the Stepping Stones Director & fellow interns to grow in the three pillars of the Stepping Stones Discipleship program: 1) Spiritual Formation, 2) Community Life and 3) Leadership Development.
Under the direction and supervision of the Outdoor Creation Experiences (OCE) Program Director, interns in this department will be trained to help teach various educational programs to school groups. Find out more at www.discoverOCE.com

Key Responsibilities:
- Upon arrival of groups, interns assist in welcoming and giving recreation tours
- Outdoor Educators participate in training then help teach a variety of programs (see full list at www.discoverOCE.com) (ex. Orienteering, Team-Building/Low Ropes, Canoeing, Rock Climbing, Cross-Country Skiing, Nature Hikes)
- Host meals and lead “Servant Groups” that are assigned to set tables and clean dishes after meals (on a weekly rotation with other staff)
- Support general program/equipment maintenance (+ shoveling snow/hockey rink care in winter)
- Support the operation of The Outdoor Classroom Maple Sugar Bush and primary school (K-5) day visits (March/April)
- Contribute new program ideas to update lessons and create new teaching materials – leave your legacy (November)
- Help lead a morning devotional or share your testimony with school groups
Required Skills:
- An interest in nature, environmental stewardship, outdoor education & adventure/recreation programs
- An eagerness to grow in speaking/teaching skills while working in an outdoor education centre and camp environment
- Strong work ethic, ability to take initiative & maintain a positive/flexible attitude despite inclement weather
- Willingness to be mentored and disciple, ask questions and grow in a Christian faith-based workplace.
