Position Description
Heritage Park Alliance Church
Title: Pastor of Jr. and Sr. High Ministries
Reports to: Pastor of Church Ministries
Classification: Full Time-Salaried
Primary Purpose: The Pastor of Jr. and Sr. High Ministries gives spiritual and organizational leadership to the Jr. and Sr. High communities at Heritage Park Alliance Church
Responsibilities: The Pastor of Jr. and Sr. High Ministries will:
- Develop and lead weekly discipleship ministries for both Jr. and Sr. High students
- Recruit, equip and train a team of volunteer leaders to serve in each of the two ministries
- Plan and carry out annual student retreats for each of the two ministries
- Meet with individual students, parents and leaders as needed to provide care, training, and counsel
- Work cooperatively with other Heritage Park staff to execute church wide initiatives and events
- Preach periodically at Heritage Park Sunday morning services
- Execute the Heritage Park Alliance Church abuse prevention plan as it applies to Jr. and Sr. High ministries
- Prepare, steward and account for the annual spending budget for this ministry
Outcomes: The purpose of this position is to ensure that:
- Students will know how to have a personal relationship with God
- Students will acquire a basic Biblical literacy
- Students will be relationally connected and take an active part in ministry life at Heritage Park
- Volunteer leaders are spiritually mature, are committed to the salvation of students, and are equipped for their ministry
Qualifications:
- Demonstrate evidence of the fruit of the Holy Spirit in their life
- A passion for Christian ministry to children and youth
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Bible College or Seminary or equivelant
- Eligibility to be licensed by the Central Canadian District of the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada
All Church employees are required to:
- Be members of Heritage Park Alliance Church, or working toward membership
- Abide by policies set out in the Heritage Park Alliance Church Employee Handbook
- Complete all test and police clearance requirements of Abuse Prevention policy
