Full-Time (40 hours per week)

Oshawa Mission Thrift Store is looking for a full-time Receiving Supervisor. The candidate will have 5+ years of experience in a management-type position, or similar senior lead role, with excellent customer service and ability to lead and train a broad demographic of volunteers.

The ideal candidate will achieve the following expectations:

    1. As the first point of contact, ensure that every customer is met with respect and courtesy
    2. Demonstrate compassion and patience in challenging and difficult situations
    3. Exemplify an understanding that this is the first point of contact with donors and customers
    4. Handle difficult customers with respect and confidence

    1. Take lead in a fast-paced environment
    2. Prioritize tasks and multi-task with confidence
    3. Demonstrate an ability to handle stressful situations
    4. Demonstrate a natural ability to lead by example – create a positive atmosphere and engage all volunteers and helpers to achieve daily goals and expectations
  1. Quality Control
    1. Ensure that all incoming items meet store standards and health & safety regulations
    2. Maintain garbage and recycling – minimize waste through all available recycling programs and maintain furniture standards to uphold our mandate to minimize impact on landfills (“Green for the Gospel”)
    3. Keep receiving area clean, tidy, and organized to ensure efficient time management, and maintain health & safety standards for work area
    4. Oversight of all recycling programs is essential, including organizing regular pickup schedules, keeping recycle areas tidy and organized
  1. General Requirements
    1. Track all materials and supplies, request as needed
    2. Perform all open and closing duties as required for the receiving and production area
    3. Ability to lift over 100lbs with assistance (equipment or staff/volunteer)
    4. Excellent organizational, leadership, and time management skills
    5. Excellent communication skills
    6. Excellent decision-making and problem solving skills

This position will be on a weekly rotating schedule:

Monday – Friday: 9am – 5pm

Tuesday – Saturday: 9am – 5pm
