Description

James North Baptist Church (JNBC) is a growing congregation of predominantly young families, anchored in the urban North End neighbourhood of Hamilton, Ontario. JNBC was established in 1887; it is a Fellowship Baptist Church in the reformed, complementarian tradition.
We are at an exciting point in our church history; as the city and our neighbourhood journey through cultural and economic changes, we seek to be a leader in supporting our community in Jesus’ name. With a Sunday morning congregation of approximately 400 people, and a weekly ministry to more than 450 families and individuals, JNBC is seeking a Summer Ministries Intern who will join us from April 27th to August 14th.
The Summer Camp Director would work with the Children & Family Ministries Director and Youth Pastor on the following assignments:
CROSSTRAINERS SUMMER CAMP
- Act as the main lead for our summer camp program that offers four weeks of full day camp.
- Focus on the administrative & logistics side of the summer ministries: registration, camper lists, making groups, schedules, supplies, etc.
- Overseeing Bible lessons, activities, arts & crafts, and the provision of lunch for children in SK-Grade 5
- Much of his/her initial time will be spent in the development of programming for the camps and then supervision and direction of the delivery of these programs.
- Overseeing and developing summer staff.
REQUIREMENTS
- Born again believer who has a heart for the Lord and His church.
- Must be willing to submit to a police check.
- The successful applicant must abide by the JNBC Statement of Faith and the JNBC Children and Youth Ministries Protection Plan and agree to serve as a role model and refrain from any conduct that may hinder his/her ministry.
PREFERRED
- Bible College or Seminary training or equivalent training via other Christian organizations such as Youth for Christ, Missions etc.
- Experience in similar ministries in a local church, either on a part-time, internship or volunteer basis.
Position runs from April 27th to August 14th
