Description

Contract (Sept 1 - Mar 30) • Timing: 10 hours / week

Responsibilities
● Attend and provide leadership over the youth and youth leaders at Tuesday junior high and Thursday senior high programming
● Lead a small group of 4-8 youth at both junior and senior high programming
● Assist in the planning, communication, and execution of programming
● Solo-lead one junior high night and one senior high night per month on separate weeks
● Serve as the main leader at both the BEDLAM junior high retreat and the SNOCAMP senior high retreat
● Lead junior high Sunday school programming once per month
● Engage in a guided book study for personal growth and development

Preferred Skills and Attributes
● Strong interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills
● Demonstrated leadership and mentoring ability
● Ability to work collaboratively within a staff
● Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and retreat weekends
● Bible College / Seminary training, or equivalent training via other Christian organizations such as Youth for Christ, Missions etc.
● Demonstrated experience in youth ministry in a local church setting on a part-time, internship, or volunteer basis

Other Requirements
● Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to James North Baptist Church’s mission, values, Statement of Faith, and the JNBC Children and Youth Ministries Protection Plan
● Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment
● Ability to travel within a 30-40 minute distance
● Born-again believer who has a heart for the Lord and His church
● Must be willing to submit to a police check
