Job Summary

First Lobo is a Baptist congregation located just outside of London, Ontario. We are looking for a part-time worker to run our youth group for the year 2026/7 (September till June). The group is currently attended by some 15 to 20 young people, from 5th to 12th Grade and from both urban and rural backgrounds. In recent years, the group has largely been overseen voluntarily by members of our own congregation. We are looking for someone with formal ministry training to develop our youth ministry. If you are looking to grow as a gospel worker, this is a great role for you.

Key Responsibilities

• You will oversee the weekly youth meeting at the church (Thursdays, 7-9pm).
• You will develop and teach a gospel-centred curriculum for the 2026/7 term.
• You will develop positive relationships with the youth and their parents, and a good working relationship with other volunteers.
• You will seek further opportunities for group development and networking with other youth groups (for example, camps).
• You will coordinate and oversee any excursions and residential events.
• You will facilitate a safe and positive environment for all youth and volunteers.
• You will meet once a month with the Lead Pastor.
• You will submit a monthly written report to the church elder-board.

 

Qualifications & Skills

• Required: High School Diploma
• Desired: Bachelor of Religious Education/Theology (or equivalent), or currently working towards this.

 

Salary & Benefits

• $333 per week
• Additional hours will be taken into account for special events, residentials etc.

 

Location & Work Arrangement

• In-person on Thursday evenings.
• Encouraged to attend on Sundays where possible to further develop relationships.
• Travel costs for Thursdays will be covered.
