POSITION TITLE: Children’s Ministry Director

PRINCIPAL FUNCTION: To lead and shepherd the children, families and volunteers of the Grow Zone Children Ministries by creating a safe place where children can grow in relationship to God, each other and their leaders. This is accomplished through infusing vision, implementing strategy, and
equipping and empowering leaders. They will be purposeful about connecting with children and partnering with their families to encourage spiritual development.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Spiritual:
• Demonstrates a mature walk and submission to the Lord Jesus and a commitment to HIS church
• A sense of calling and passion for children
• A heart to see the whole family involved in ministry and discipling their children
• Maintains and nurtures their own relationship with Christ through regular prayer and Bible study
• A commitment to teaching sound doctrine and biblical truth
Professional:
• Formal training from a recognized Bible college or seminary is preferred but not mandatory
• Experience leading children ministries
• Experience recruiting, training, and developing a team of volunteers
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written – oversees growzone@bramalea.org
• Some knowledge of working with technology and Planning Center
• Ability to oversee the Children’s Ministry Associate & Camp Staff
• Availability to work evenings, weekends and travel as ministry requires
• Commitment to the ministries and vision of Bramalea Baptist Church
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Actively praying for and connecting with the children and families that are involved in or
impacted by Grow Zone ministries
• Responsible for active discipleship of our children’s ministry – Gather, Grow, Give and Go
• Responsible for leadership and oversight of Sunday Morning, midweek, and seasonal Grow
Zone ministries including: Organizing, volunteer coordinating, scheduling, curriculum, teaching
(as needed) – Kid’s Church, KINS KIDS, Christmas Choir, Summer Camp
• Responsible for team building including recruiting, training, developing key leaders, staff and
volunteers to work alongside to fulfill the mission of the ministry
• Work alongside the Camp Director to lead, organize, and develop summer camp ministries
(VBS, Sonsational, Rokhawah) while ensuring the success of Kid’s Church during Summer
• Responsible for preparing and managing the yearly budget for Grow Zone Ministries
• Being an effective member of the NextGen team (meetings, events, etc.)
• Participating in weekly staff meetings as well as staff building activities
