ABOUT THE VILLAGE CHURCH

The Village Church is a fun, adventurous and growing community of faith, committed to serving God and loving our neighbours. We are seeking a dedicated, passionate Family Pastor to join our team and work closely with the Lead Pastor to help families live like Jesus in all areas of life. The ideal candidate will possess a deep commitment to Jesus, strong leadership skills, and excellent communication abilities.

OVERVIEW

The Family Pastor will work closely with the Lead Pastor to ensure The Village Church (“the church”) is able to widen the scope of ministry to our church and community.  Under the supervision of the Lead Pastor and the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), the Family Pastor can help the church implement the vision that is being given to us, by God, to support, disciple and care for families in our church and community.

✦ Self-Starter - ability to get things done, responds promptly to issues, corresponds and follows through on tasks

✦ Flexible - to work odd hours (evenings, weekends etc)

✦ Team Player - works well with others and align with the core values and theology of The Village Church and The United Brethren Church in Canada

✦ Energy - you can create momentum and enthusiasm

✦ Fun - you are able to have fun, bring others along in that fun and not take yourself too seriously

✦ Experience - working with children/youth in a ministry context is preferred

✦ Training - Education in Bible College or equivalent is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

✦ Model for and lead families in a vital prayer ministry and a life of godliness that is an essential component in effective ministry

✦ Assist in coordinating/leading meetings and other activities, to clarify and execute programs and activities aimed at achieving church ministry objectives and goals.

✦ Help to facilitate the planning and leadership of the weekly/regular services of worship and teaching.

✦ Oversee the facilitation of specific ministry initiatives focused on children, youth and the family/community, including Sunday morning ministries and weekly gatherings.

✦ Recruit, coordinate, train and schedule ministry teams for Village Kids and Village Youth ministry.

✦ Collaborate in the administrative oversight of ministry

✦ Engage in the overall ministry of the United Brethren Church in Canada, including serving at summer camp in August.

COMPENSATION

✦ Position is part-time with the potential of extending to full-time

✦ Salary is set at $26,500 annually
